save Ctrl + s

Hi I've posted this question several times but can't find it anywhere. My
subform has a text field. Before the user could press Ctrl + S as they were
working to periodically save the text. Now however Ctrl+s just saves the
entire record and exits that record. How can I get it back to functioning the
way it was before.
