currentproject.connection causes error

My current configuration:
Windows XP Pro with Access 2002 and Office XP Developer

I cannot get any of my Access applications to run on my
computer and get the same error:
Error loading DLL
The apps stop on "currentproject.connection". Most of my
apps won't even open the switchboard because the one
Access creates uses currentproject, never mind that I use
it in quite a few of my forms when creating recordsets.

I have tried repairing and reinstalling but am still
getting this error. When I create a new blank database,
I get the following error:
Object library not registered

When I go to the references dialog box, there are not
any "MISSING" references.

Please help! I've got projects I need to finish and
cannot figure out what to do. Do I need to install
service pack 1?
