Cursor Does Not Blink in Blank Fields

My computer's blinking cursor does not appear in blank fields within MS Outlook 2003. Does anyone have this same problem and/or a fix to resolve it? The cursor works in all other programs on my computer, but not when it's in a blank field within Outlook. Thanks!
