Cursor jitters in word

Running Windows XP Home.

Recently, it was necessary to reformat my HD. Everything went smoothly, I
thought. But when I'm in Word xp, my cursor (not pointer) jumps, shimmies,
and jitters for a while before it settles down. Then, when I type a letter,
it does it again. Anyone whit a remedy here? Thank you!

I just noticed that the cursor seems to jitter much worse when I'm typing
text inside a table. Thanks for any help!

Most likely a video driver problem. Update the driver or turn down hardware
acceleration.
