Cursor position in Userform on switching applications

I have set up a Userform for use in Word 2000, Windows XP.

I have to enter information in it from looking at another application
(database) and so switch between applications whilst filling in the Userform.

The cursor 'disappears' when I do this and only reappears when I hit a
cursor movement key or enter key or tab key by which point I am in the wrong
text box!

How can I make sure the cursor stays visible when I switch back into Word?
