custom border orientation

I created a custom border using a picture I have but when it creates the
border the orientation of the picture is the same all the way round, instead
of turning the bottom of the picure to point towards the center. What Iwant
is ...On the left side pointing right on the right side pointing left and on
the bottom pointing up. How do you change that?

Works something like this. Insert your border with the resizing node on the side
edge re-size until you have just one row of art, copy, paste, flip. Do the same
with the top and bottom.

Are you saying to use line border instead of a box border? using 4 seperate
line borders and flipping/rotaing them to make the square border you need?
If this is correct is there a way to connect them and create a box such as
art or text? Or would it simpley have to be an overlay at that point?

Basically that is what I am saying. You can group the lines together, be sure to
send them to the back. You will have to tweak. How much tweaking will depend on
how complex the image is that you used to create the border.
