Custom Field for Summary Tasks

I am trying to create a slippage report that I can export into excel
I've added a column in the task sheet with a formula that gives me th
# of days that they are slipping, but I cannot figure out how to pul
just the rolled up summary task instead of everything. I tried t
group by task name (thinking I could then create a second custom fiel
that would just pull the summary name) but it won't let me group. Am
going about this the wrong way? Is there any other way to get
slippage report that I can export?

How are you exporting to excel? Using save as?
If so, simply edit whatever map you are using and on the tasks tab of the
map dialog, set the filter to "Summary Tasks"

If the problem is that no value is exported for the summary task, then in
the customize fields dialog box, make sure that "calculation for task and
group summary rows" is set to "roll-up" or perhaps whatever formula you have.
Whichever is more appropriate in your situation.
