custom report

Hi there,

I am trying to come up with a report like this (these are the columns):

task resource work .... .....

Well the clue is that I like to have only tasks on level two and the
work per resource should be aggregated from the lower levels.

Could anybody please help me with this.

Thks in advance. I really appreciate any help.

stpauli,
Just looking at your proposed report columns I suggest you take a look
at one of the usage views, probably the Task Usage view. Does it have
what you need, or at least close enough?

As far as your clue is concerned, I guess I'm just not a good detective
because I have no idea what you "like" to have. Sherlock is not one of
the MVPs. Please try that one again.

Hi John,

thanks for your reply. I have not quite understoode what you mean
(could be my english or my project skill etc.; could you maybe
specifically tell me the where in the menue i will find it, since i am
using a german version). So I am trying to be more specific with an
example:

1. The project plan looks like this

Task Work Resource
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Design phase 15
design part a 7
getting information 3 Tom[33%], Anne[33%], James[33%]
consolidating infos 1 Tom[50%], Anne[50%]
working on design 3 James[50%], Anne[50%]
desgin part b 8
getting information 3 Tom[3%], Anne[33%], James[33%]
consolidating infos 2 Tom[50%], Anne[50%]
working on design 3 James[50%], Anne[50%]

now i like to have a table/report like this:

Level 2 Taks Resource Work
(aggregated work of level three tasks)
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
design part a Tom 4,5
desgin part a Anne 3
desing part a James 2,5
design part b Tom 5
desgin part b Anne 3,5
desing part b James 2,5

thank you.

HI,

Sie brauchen exact was John anzeigte: der Task Usage View
Ich kann nicht sagen der wievielte View das ist weil die alfabetisch
sortiert sind im View Bar.
Heisst es vielleicht Vorgängengebrauch?

Hi Jan,

thanks, but sorry I don't get it....I am lost. I clicked menue
views--> more views and chose task usage view "Vorgang: Einsatz" as it
is called in German. It shows an aggregated view, but it does not show
the resources, because as you can see from my example the level two
does not have resources explicitly assigned to it. resources are only
assigned on level 3. Plus I like to have one line per resource so I
know exactly how many work the ressource has been assigned for this
specific level 2 task.

Thks.

Sorry. That is only available through some (not simple!) VBA programming.

stpauli,
Jan is one of our European MVPs so he is better equipped to converse
with you and it looks like he hit the basics of what you desire. The
format you want is simply not directly available in Project. You could
get the format you want but it would require the use of VBA as Jan
stated.
