customize 'resource names' column to restrict to the value list

Do you know any way of restricting the names that are stored in the 'resource
names' column? I can do it on new columns that I created and they work fine,
but I can't seem to get the 'resource names' column to do the same.

Tools, Options, General, cross out "Automatically add new resources and
tasks"

thanks for your response - the only problem now is, they may need to add new
tasks, which I would want to update automatically. It's only really the
resource names that they are not allowed to change.

Any other ideas?

Hi Ange,

Now for the good news.
I've never known why the option says ... and tasks.
Even when it is off, you can add taks as before.
Do mind, you can still add resources as well, but when you will enter an
unknown soldier in the Resource Names column you will get a warning message
nd you can refuse it.
