Customized Number field - blanks in summary lines

Is it possible with a customized Number field to suppress values in summary
lines? I show number of days tasks are late with datediff, and my summary
lines display negative values when detail tasks aren't due on the status
date. In a number field, can I write a conditional statement in which the
"else" is a null value?

Hi,

There is good news and there is bad news.
The good news is you can have in a summary field a different formula from
the detail lines, or no formula at all.
The bad news is no, a number field cannot be null.

But the again why not use a text field? That one can holld a formatted
bnumber AND a null value!
Hope this helps,

Jan, thanks. Can you explain how to have a different or no formula on a
summary line?

Jan, you inspired me:
In a text field,
IIf(datediff("d",[Finish],NOW())>0,datediff("d",[Finish],NOW()),"") returns
positive (late) values on detail tasks. And returns blanks on summary lines!
(is that because summary lines are not really tasks?)

Hi,

Tools, Customize, Fields has a first line "Attributes" where you will select
"Formula"
Below is a second line for the summary tasks with the choice None, sa
selection of Rollup rumes, or the application of the detail lines formula.
Hope this helps.
