Cut and paste track changes

Is there a way to cut and paste text in Word 2002 (on Windows XP platform)
without losing tracked changes?

I am editing a long document in Word 2002. The document has been edited
using track changes. I would like to break the document into several
smaller files, and then recombine them into a longer file when editing is
completed. However, I want to preserve the tracked changes. However,
whenever I cut and paste text with tracked changes to another document, the
tracked changes disappear. I have tried using Paste Special, but do not see
an option that works.

Could you save the entire file as separate new files and edit out the
sections you don't need?

Hi

To copy text that includes track changes *without* copying the tracked
changes, turn *on* track changes and copy and paste.

To copy text that includes track changes *with* copying the tracked changes,
turn *off* track changes and copy and paste.

Hope this helps.
