Dashes in Repeating Task

If I have text in a Repeating Task, when I mark the task complete, the
newly-generated task has twelve (12) dashes (------------) before the text.
Why are the dashes being placed, and how do I suppress it?

If there is no text in the Repeating Task, no dashes are inserted.
