Data Analysis View security

Well, this is hard to believe, but please help me confirm...
If I create a Data Analysis view and give any category access to the view,
they can view it and add any field at all to see any data in the cube. This
means I cannot create cost oriented Data Analysis views for the Finance
Category only. I mean I can do that, but if I create a simple 'Project,
resource, work' Data Analysis view for project managers or Team Members, they
can always add the cost fields and any project, even if they aren't on those
projects to the view. This really can't be the case, is it? Can I set up
Data Analysis views that can't be changed? This would be a real drawback to
providing anyone with these very powerful views. Please help if there is a
way to provide these views without letting users add fields or change things.
Thanks....

David

Hi David,

You can create the view without the Filed List and tool bar. Users will
then not be able to manipulate the view.

Your answer is incorrect. Even if the Project Server administrator does not
include the PivotTable Field List dialog and toolbar in the Data Analysis
view, users can click the View Options button to expand the View Options
pane, select the "Show PivotTable Toolbar" option and then click the Show
Field List button on the toolbar.

To answer David's question, you cannot hide some of the underlying
information in the OLAP cube upon which a Data Analysis view is based. Hope
this helps.
