Data Assistant cant recognize .xls documents

I install Office 2003 Profesional, update with .NET Framework 1.1 and Data
Assistant 1.0, set all parameters of Excel and PowerPoint for Farmework as it
is in instructions.

In PowerPoint by opening Data assistant import excel I browse any .xls doc
and he cant recognize it, like it is not right format...?
