Database - Insert

I hopefully have an easy question.

I have a basic database on my website. I used the base
frontpage database interface to create the editor,
submission and results pages.

When I add a new record, it comes back and tells me the
record was added. There are no errors, nothing. However
the database is not being updated.

If I edit an existing record, it updates the database
with no problem. So I know the database is writable and
permissions are set by the ISP.

Anyone have any ideas? I did nothing to edit the pages
frontpage created. I created and uploaded.
