I agree, dates should group. If your dates are not in Excel as a numbe
eg in a YYYYMMDD format, try converting this column into a number b
using a DATE function and use this column in your pivot table
what sort of data do you want to group and how do you want it grouped? AFAIK
any "real" dates will group ("real" being dates recognised by excel as dates
and not entered as text).
If there are text entries, or blank cells in the date column, you won't
be able to group the field. If that's the problem, perhaps you could
delete any text, and add a "dummy" date to records with no date.
