Date range Filter - doesnt got to date range!

I have created a custom resource Usage view combined with the date Range
Filter to display Overallocation data within an input date range. However
after entering the date range at the prompts the view is opened with the
timescale way back in the past - why is this happening and what is the
workaround? Thanks in advance.
