Date Validation

I have a date picker field in my InfoPath form.
I have validation rule that says the date selected cannot be less than
today's date and that works well.

I am trying to ensure the person also enters a valid date (in the form
dd\MM\yyyy). I have been trying pattern matching but it has not seemed to
work. What would be a valuid pattern to match for the above date format?

Did you find out the solution ?
I have exactly the same problem : the list of data entry template is very
poor : not even the date template.

NO not yet this project has not advanced past this stage and hence I stopped
at this problem sorry
