How do I deactivate office on a old computer I am going to throw away and
install it on another new computer? I uninstalled office on my old computer
and tried to install it in my new computer. But it states that office has
already been activated on my old computer even though I uninstalled it. Can
anyone guide me the steps to going about doing what I want?

There is no "deactivation" procedure, you will have to activate on the new
machine by 'phone.

And beware that if your version of Office is OEM version, you're not
entitled to move it to the new machine.
