debug a page

I'm in a middle of developing a web site and I encounter a problem. The
page has alot of links to the local website and to the internet. The
internet is diconnected in the development phase. Problem is that when I
preview in an explorer it take some 30 seconds until it finishes updating.

Can someone advise how to debug that problem?

That's not a problem. The browser is probably trying to download some
resources from the Internet. If you have a URL, I can be more specific.
