Hi, JRC,

You don't mention what version of Word or operating system you're using. By
default, Word uses the location of "My Documents" as the default. One
option is to change the location of "My Documents":

How to Change the Default Location of the My Documents Folder:
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;310147

How to Change the Default Location of the My Documents Folder:
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;253682

This will change the default for all Office applications.

Another option is in Word to go into Tools | Options | File Locations and
change the defalt location for the "Documents" file type.
