Default start times.

I have set my default start time to 7:00 AM, but when I put a task in, it
reverts back to 8:00 AM. I am sure it is very simple mistake. Any ideas?

Did you set the default time in the calendar? If not go to Tools/ Change
Working Time and set the start time there to 0700

I did set the default working time in the calender to 0700. It still reverts
to 0800 on the ghant chart.

ecrub,
Where did you set the default start time? The working time calendar
found under Tools/Change Working Time sets the shift times for tasks.
And under most circumstances, the default start and end times under
Tools/Options/Calendar tab should be consistent with the working time
setting.

Hope this helps.

Hi ecrub ,

2 possibilities:

What is the Project Start Date/Time set to? Check Project/Project
Information...

Is there a constraint set on this task, other than As Soon As Possible?
Check Task/Task Information.../Advanced tab.

Hope this helps - please let us know how you get on :)

That is NOT where you set the default start time, even though it seems to
say that's what it is. To set the time the workday starts you need to go to
Tools, Change Working Time and edit the calendar hours there.

ecrub,
Maybe I wasn't clear enough but I think Steve and others drove the point
home - you need to set the shift start and end times under Tools/Change
Working time.

Gentlemen'
Every suggestion has been tried, and was actually done as you have all
suggested. Are there any other ideas?

One thing more. If you set the Project start date (Project/ Project
Information) BEFORE you adjusted the working time hours, it's probably still
showing the project begins at 8am, one hour after the actual start of the
work day. That will cause all subsequent times to be offset by one hour as
well. Make sure the Project Start reads xx date @ 7am and you should be
fine.

ecrub,
In addition to Steve's latest comment, do you have any progress on the
tasks? We assumed you were entering new tasks but if you are trying to
correct the start time and there is a date in the Actual Start field,
then the start time will be "locked" even if you later change the
Project Start Date or the working time calendar.

Just another idea.
