I have to rebuild a computer that has a valid version of office 2003, student
and teacher edition. I am alowed to use this on three computers, I have it
installed and activated on two. I have to rebuild one of these and want to
know if when I go to reactivate this again on this same computer will MS
consider this the third install?
How can I ensure that i do not use the third activation?
Thanks

Don,
Uninstall from add/remove programs. Rebuild your pc, install Office ST. When
you activate, if the internet option does not work call the 800 number and
explain to the operator what you did to the pc. You should easily be able to
activate this way with the same license. Also, if it has been over 120 days
since the first install on this machine the internet option should work.

use the Office Online web based newsreader here:
http://www.microsoft.com/office/community/en-us/default.mspx
In Office System 2003 applications:
Help/Assistance Pane/open Communities

Thanks mate, I did uninstall it prior to taking it back to my guy for total
rebuilding. This is all a result of trying to get rid of leftover bits of
marketscore/netsetter garbage.... nasty program that! I managed to delete it
all but when osmim.dll was removed my internet conductivity was also gone.
Reinstalled XP but still nothing. The shop was able to reinstall the winsock,
but enough other things were not quite right that total reformat and install
is called for....
Thanks again.
