Delete blank page

Mary

I have a couple of documents that have blank pages. I know it should be
pretty straightforward to get rid of them, but I can figure out how to
delete them. Thanks. Mary

There is no such thing as a "blank page" in Word (except the ones that Word
may insert when you use an Odd Page or Even Page section break). There will
be something on the page, probably empty paragraphs. To see what it is,
display nonprinting characters (Ctrl+* or click the Show/Hide ¶ button on
the Standard toolbar). For an explanation of these characters, see
http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/Formatting/NonPrintChars.htm. The one you're most
likely to see is the paragraph mark (¶), which, standing alone, indicates an
empty paragraph. Delete all empty paragraphs.

If you have an empty paragraph after a table at the end of a document, you
won't be able to delete that, but you can make it very small (1 pt) or
hidden (Format | Font: Hidden).

You're right, of course. When I displayed the nonprinting characters, there
is a paragraph mark. The first page is a table, and the second page has
that paragraph mark. My problem is that when I print this form out, an
extra page comes out. I wanted to prevent that, but it sounds as though I
can't. It's surprising to me. I would have thought Word would be able to
accomplish such a simple thing. Thanks for your help. Mary

Select that final paragraph mark and format it as 1 point - or hidden.
Or simply print the current page.

how do i delete a blank page in microsoft word
Try going to the end of the last line in the file (NOT the end of the
file) and mashing the "Delete" key. This works a lot of the time. HTH
