delete dictionary languages

How do I delete dictionary languages from the scroll box interface in spell
check? I only want to see German and English. I find it frustrating to have
to scroll through Galician and other languages I will never need and are not
even loaded onto my computer. Thanks for your help.

Hi Lydia,

What version of Office are you using?

In Word 2003, for example, if you use
Tools=>Language=>Set Language the installed
proofing tools used should show 'above the line'
at the top of the dialog matching the settings
from the Office Language Tools in
Start=>Programs=>Microsoft Office Tools.

The language list shows the language formats that someone
may have applied to text (intentionally or not).

German proofing tools are not provided with MS Office
English language editions but are available as part of
the MS Office proofing tools pack (sold separately).

Dear Bob,
Thank you for your reply. I'm using XP. I checked what you said regarding
"Tools=>Language=>Set Language" and English and German are indeed above the
line (I've purchased and installed the German from the Proofing Tools CD.

The scroll box I'm referring to is in the box that pops up when using spell
check. Sometimes the program doesn't automatically recognize the language
the document is written in. Then I have to select the language from the
"dictionary language" drop down menu (scroll box). THIS is where I want to
delete the other languages to simplify the selection process.

Thanks for your help.
