Delete old email in Outlook 2003

I installed then uninstalled Office 2003 profession
edition. On the reinstall, my old email came back into
my inbox. Now when I try to delete the old emails I get
"The messaging interface has returned an unknow error.
If the problem persists, restart outlook." I have
restarted and the problem is still there. How do I
delete my old email. I am also unable to move them to
another file.

Do you have the mail displayed in the reading pane? If you turn the reading
pane off, can you delete the mail?

Post all replies to the group to keep the discussion intact. Due to
the SWEN virus, all mail sent to my personal account will be deleted
without reading.
