Delete unneccesary files

Can I delete any of these at no risk or what should I change:
*.bak; *.chk; *.*000*; *~*.*

And what about the -unsinstalled files- with $, that appear on Windows file,
and seem to have some relation with Windows updates?

Generally speaking, yes. Deleting the $ folders in windows will prevent you
from being able to unistall any of those updates. I usually get rid of
those that are more than a few months old.

Keep in mind, this is an Office forum. You will more likely find definitive
answers in the Windows groups, such as:
microsoft.public.windowsxp.help_and_support
