Deleted/Rejected Tasks

Hi!
I have run into a problem with updating my files with the PWA.

First, I was asked to delete a task from the database, which I did.
Then, the person who asked me to delete the task, rejected it on PWA
after I had deleted it. (This task was a header task with subtasks
linked to it.).

Now, when I click the Update tab, I get an error response that states
the project could not be updated because that task is no longer
assigned or has been deleted.

I have tried to re-enter the task; I've asked the person assigned to
the subtasks to reject the tasks; and republished the information from
the database. Nothing is working. My main question, do I have to
delete the entire file from the server and publish it all over again?

Thanks.

In the future, please post your Project Server questions in the
microsoft.public.project.server newsgroup as this newsgroup is closing down.
To answer your question, the process you used has messed up the project.
Specifically, you deleted the task incorrectly and then your team member
rejected a deleted task. To solve this problem, you need to save the
project as an .mpp file, delete the project from the Project Server
database, and then import the .mpp file back into the Project Server
database. If this project has Risks, Issues, or Documents associated with
it, ask your Project Server administrator to refer to the following FAQ
before you delete the project from the system:

Hope this helps.
