Deleting already deleted messages

Hi,

Using Outlook 2003 (english).

If I try to delete a message from an IMAP folder that has already been
deleted by someone else, nothing happens. It doesn't even help to click Send
& receive. If I restart Outlook, the message disappear correctly.

1) I send myself a message.
2) I click Send & receive in Outlook and read the message.
3) Without closing Outlook, I log on the same IMAP account using a webmail
system.
4) I delete (and expunge) the message from the mailbox using the webmail
system.
5) I go back to Outlook, mark the message and click Delete on the keyboard.
Nothing happens. (The message doesn't get striked out or anything else).

When I click delete in step 5, Outlook sends this to the server:
fnmb UID STORE 29488 +FLAGS (\Deleted \Seen)
The server responds:
fnmb NO UID failed[nl]
(the UID command fails since the message doesn't exist).

After this, I can click Send & receive, Purge deleted items and switch
between folders without the message disappears. When Outlook receives the
error message from the IMAP server, it feels like this server should be
propagated to the user. As it is today, the user will keep clicking Delete
on the message without knowing what happens.

Looks like an Outlook bug to me. Anyone has a comment on this?

/ Martin
