Deleting messages from the Inbox

I am unable to delete messages from my inbox but can
delete messages from other folders. Recently I have
deleted lots of emails from my inbox so I didn't think it
was a space issue since I have less emails now than in the
past. Any help would be appreciated.

Running a repair utiility might just help.

and I"ve had to run it 3 times where the first 2 times say no problems were
found, but then it's fixed!
Also compact the PST.
don't do either until your backup your PST:

OL2k, but works for other versions as well.
