deselect command in a macro

A

aleeherself

I have created a macro for users to update all the fill-in fields in my
document, but it puts me back in with the "WholeStory" still selected. AND
the recorder will not let me click on the document, right click and toggle
fields or any other way that I know how to deselect the material. This
document is going out to the entire company of about 2000 poeple and I know a
LOT of them are not computer savvy enough to do it themselves. SO, I want to
know what the command is that I can put within the macro to deselect the
WholeStory. I don't even know enough about Visual Basic to BE dangerous!!!
Thanks! Audrey

That's often the most dangerous scenario... someone coding who does not know
enough! ;-)

Try this at the end of the code:

Selection.Collapse

Just one more thing and it will be perferct. Is there a way to program a
shortcut to escape from the fill-in screens before the user is finished
entering? Right now, they have to hit Esc until it phases through all of the
screens. When I tried to do a macro to hit Esc the correct number of times,
it was not accessible when I was in the Fill-in screen.

I never use Fill in fields, so I am not sure, I do not think so.

If you have so many fill-in field, you may want to use a userform instead.

deselect the material. This document is going out to the entire
2000 users ?!?!

Get a solid VBA course!!
If you want maintain credibility, do so!

You're not only serving yourself, but 2000 users as well

By the time dependancy to your application grows and you're not able to live
up to the demand:
you have a serious problem!
