I am trying to change my password but it won't let me. i went to the control
panel and went to the passwords/users and i clicked on the one i needed to
change and typed in the new password and confirmed it again and clicked ok.
the apply button was greyed out so i could not choose it. i restarted the
computer and it would not take the new one, only the old one. what am i doing
wrong, or has my daughter done something to it so i can't change it?

I'd suggest posting your question in the newsgroup for your operating system
instead of the newsgroup for Office.

Not without knowing which operating system you're using.

You're posting thru MS's website's interface, aren't you?

has

You're using OE. If you hit Ctrl+F3, you can see the message headers.
"X-Newsreader: Microsoft CDO for Windows 2000" means it's coming through
one
of the MS web-based portals. The Windows 2000 doesn't have anything to do
with the user's version of Windows -- it's just coincidental that the
original poster may be using Win2k.
