DHTML Menu Builders

Are there any that will create an "active state" for a button and then
retain that active state until a visitor clicks it to go elsewhere?

Not to question your depth of knowledge but the key for me is the "active
state". Are you (relatively) sure that the active state will be retained
only on the active page? This is one of the many features of FP that I like
about its navigation system. I still get lost on some sites where each
button has the same state when I land on the page.

One last question. How will DHTML Menu Builder Developer Edition blend in if
(when) I upgrade to FP 2003? Thanks for your expertise here.

With the developer's edition, you can do this. With the regular version,
you cannot. Right now, they are offering the developer's edition for free
when you purchase the regular edition.

Working with the developer's edition does require you to understand some
Javascript, but they provide generous code samples and the code is quite
simple. Usually just a couple of lines will do what you need, and you can
do some VERY powerful things such as build your menus dynamically.

Thanks for the clarification. I asked the follow up question only because it
took me about 60 hours to finally grasp that the one I was testing wouldn't
do what I assumed it would when I started. Thanks again.
