Different results on different computers.

I use Word at different locations i.e. home, library, my friends. I get
different formatting and different page counts. All the computers are using
MS Office 2000. For example: I have a document that numbers anywhere from 105
pages on one computer to 113 pages on another computer. All computers are
using the same font, and a new normal.dot

Why do I get this variation and how can I eliminate it?

Word reads page data from the printer settings. This can shift the margins.

The font might have the same name, but are you sure it's actually the same
font file? Typefaces are not copyright, so there are many versions of the
common ones, all slightly different.

Try this: print page one from two versions. Over lay them and hold them to
the window. See exactly where the differences are.
