Disappearing Lines

D

Dunner

Hi,

When I draw a text box, circle, arrow, etc in word everything seems fine.
The box has a black outline etc as I need however the second I scroll away
from that section of a document and then return the lines disappear! In text
boxes the text remains but the lines around the box have gone.

What is this problem and how can I fix it?

Cheers

Most likely you have set the AutoShape default for lines to No Line. Try
clicking on one of your AutoShapes and changing the line color and/or
weight. Then right-click the formatted object and choose Set AutoShape
Defaults. If this solves the problem when you create a new AutoShape (it
will not affect existing ones; you'll have to change those manually), then
you've found the problem. To make this effective for all new documents,
you'll have to make the change in Normal.dot. See
http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/Customization/CustomizeNormalTemplate.htm
