dispalying elapsed duration

I am trying get MS Project to show me the overall elapsed
duration of a task in calendar weeks.

Currently MS Project says duration is "the total span of
active working time for a task". But I wish to show total
CALENDAR time so it will take into account things like
split tasks and non working time.

Currently in my plan I have a summary task starting 19
Dec 03 and finishing 02 April 04, my plan shows this as a
duration of 13.6 weeks because of non working time for
Xmas and Chinese new year.

If I insert the same start and end dates into a new plan
(without the same non working times)the duration is shown
as 15.2 wks which is more like the elapsed time between
the start and end dates.

Does anyone have an idea how I can show the elapsed
duratuon and the MS Project duration in the same project?

Thanks

Tony

Duration is duration and we don't have the luxury of changing its
definition but what we can do is add a calculated field to calculate the
difference between two dates. Check out the DateDiff function.
