Distribution List Help!! -Adding Contacts

D

Donna

I have 400 contacts in Outlook 2002; I am attempting to create one big
distribution list to begin with. When I highlight all my member names,
however, & add them to th list, I receive a message that indicates I am
adding only 385. I do have some contacts that I have not yet added their
email address. Is Outlook selecting only the names for the list that
currently have email addresses?

Also, I have a couple instances where I have 2 separate contact names with
the same email (a business email). Will Outlook only send one email when I
send a message using the distribution list?

The DL will only use the email address enabled contacts. If there is no
email address associated with the contact, it will not be added.

As for your second question, if the contact records are identical, only one
mail will be sent, if not, then two.

By the way, look into using categories rather than Distribution lists, much
easier to manage.

the (insert latest virus name here) virus, all mail sent to my personal
account will be deleted without reading.
