Dividing Hours

Pat W.

I have a task that is going to take 500 hours but the hours are going to be
split to more than 1 person - how do I show that so that Project does not
take it out for the full 500 hours?

Hi Pat

500 hours .. is this manhours, ie the amount of work that needs to be done?
If so, insert the WORK column in the Gantt chart (right mouse click on the
column you want to the left of this column and choose insert column - choose
work). Now enter the 500h in this column for the task. When you assign the
resources project will determine the duration for you using the formula of
Duration = Work / Units

Hope this helps

Hi Pat,

Welcome to this Microsoft Project newsgroup :)

Enter the task as normal and then split the Window. In the lower pane enter
the resources and the work you want them to achieve, and then click OK.
