do done step tracker view?

Yea....I can't think of an actual name for this, but is a view like this
possible in microsoft project?

http://www.magnatag.com/page/DDST/board/do-done-step-tracker-whiteboard/

as is shown in that link, except the far left column where it shows items
would be multiple projects, and the top row would be items to be completed on
that project in chronological order, and the tracking "dot" as I'll call it
for each project falls underneath what item that project currently has in
progress. Anybody? Thanks!

Nick,
As modified by your description, how is what you want different from a
standard Gantt Chart view? A Gantt Chart has tasks on the left, (if
collapsed, they could be summary lines for "projects"), and a
chronological ordering of the timeline on the right. As far as the
"dots" are concerned, take a look at Tools/Tracking/Progress Lines. Play
around with it. Maybe you can come close to what you want.

In addition to John's post, you could create additional fields in project
that caclulate.
For example, you could insert columns for Schedule Variance, Cost Variance,
Status, and the like. Each of these could be set to display as a graphical
indicator (such as the pleasure dots on your link).

Can Project do that? Yes, and a whole lot more.

John,

Let me go into further depth, and maybe I'm just not using the gantt
chart view correctly. I own a construction company, and would like to view
each project at the same time. So, here is how I want it to look:
March
30, 2007
Project Address: Permits Clearing Footing
Foundation . .

137 Sugar Bush x
100 Dunes x
113 Seminole
x
..
..
..

That is doable in a gantt chart? thanks,

Nick

Nick,
What you are showing looks like a simple spreadsheet, not a schedule.
Unless there is more data you want to show (e.g. an actual linked
schedule), I would set this up in Excel and forget Project.
