I would like to uninstall and reinstall office xp. Is it true that I need a
utilility to clean off office registries and the like before reinstall. If
so, where do I find a free utility? Thank you!!!

No. Simply uninstall Office, reboot, then reinstall it.

I'm not sure if you could use the utility included in Office 2003,
which is available for download, but my main question is why do you
want to reinstall Office? If you are encountering problems then seldom
does uninstalling/reinstalling correct the issue.

msmsgs.exe is using 98% resources at random no apparant reason. If I delete
the task the computer freezes and I have to restart. It even does it at
night when nobody is using the computer. So I figured a reinstall would fix
it. Please advise. Thank you

As g-n-o noted, msmsgs.exe is not part of Office so
uninstalling/reinstalling Office will do you little good.

Now, I seem to recall Norton causing some type of conflict with
Messenger but I don't recall the details. You should post in the
Messenger newsgroup to be sure:

Greetings again Beth,
Thank you for your advice. I went to messenger help and a one of the post
stated to uncheck the msn tab in norton options. I not sure what it did (and
dont really care) because my processor is freeeeeee --

Thank you so much,
Robert

Hey Beth -

Can you arrange an office cleaner for me too? He/she needs to be able to
file my stuff neatly so I can find it and I'd love my books arranged in
alphabetical order my subject. :-D

(I really need to go to bed!)
