Do not want emails to open automatically

I have recently moved from Outlook Express to Outlook
2000. In express I have been able to view incoming
messages without opening the file unless I double click it.
Is this possible in OL 2000 and how do I achieve this? I
want to be able to preview without actually opening the
email.

1) technically, reading a message in preview is the same as opening it
2) View, Preview... (it's usually enabled by default BTW)

Hello. In Outlook if you click on VIEW....then CURRENT
VIEW....then MESSAGES WITH AUTOPREVIEW...this should do
it. GOOD LUCK..:)

The truth is that OE opened the message, too. How do you think you can see
inside a message without opening it?
