"Document cannot be registered"...?

Howdy,

I run W2000 and just got an error that I have not seen, and cannot
interpret. I checked the KB with no luck.

When opening a doc, we get the error:

"This document cannot be registered. It will not be possible to create
links from other documents to this document."

Can you help us to undo this hassle?

Sincere thanks for your suggestion...

I mentioned that I searched the KB for the phrase "This Document
cannot be registered" but came up with nothing. I suppose that I might
have inserted a typo.

Interestingly, I tried to correct the problem by re-booting. When I
did, Windows asked if I wanted to go back to the last good registry
and I did. That solved the issue. So, apparently, my problem was,
indeed, due to registry corruption.

I just searched the KB again and this time found the article you
suggested immediately. I must have made a typing error earlier <bg>.
