I have been having problems running Word 2003 on an HP desktop running Vista.
On 2 occasions, Word has closed and stated that it would save a version of
the file. However, I couldn't find the file either time. When I use the
document recovery function I get a file in which almost all of the text
consists of small empty boxes. The saved file is the same size and has the
same number of characters/pages as the original file.
What is more unusual is that the original saved file is also missing. Now
I can't even go back to the original file and reenter my work. Two questions
for the group:
1. Is there anyway to reformat the file to recover the text?
2. What happened to the ORIGINAL file? Is there any way to recover it?
Please help!
