Documents containing Hyperlinks Are Very Slow To Open

Dear All,

Can you help with a frustrating problem on Office 97 on my notebook. I
noticed recently that some documents on my c: drive were taking an age to
open (5 mins) and yet other docs opened instantly. I have eventually figured
out that it is the documents that contain hyperlinks that are very slow to
open.

This must be fixable becuase when I transfer the doc to my desktop pc , it
opens instantly even with the hyperlinks. There must be some sort of setting
somewhere on my notebook that is causing office to try to resolve the
hyperlink. Any ideas what this setting is and to switch it off?

Folks,

Don't worry about this problem , I have figured it out.

For any-one who is interested the Defualt printer on my notebook was a
network printer that the OS could not find. Changed the default printer to a
local printer and my files open instantly again.

If you have the same problem I hope you find this tip useful.
