Does Publisher 2007 have proper "Publish to web" capbilities ?

I purchased Publisher 2007, developed a web site and tried to publish it to
the web, via ftp. However, when I sought to establish an ftp site there was
no Save in box so my ability to do so stopped there. Two people have
suggested that Publisher 2007 got left out when the publish to the web
features were passed out. Is there any truth in this and, if not, how can I
get this program to do this thing ? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Prepare, publish, and maintain your Publisher Web site:
http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/publisher/HA100947601033.aspx
Pay particular attention to the instructions for FTP uploading in Vista.
Publishing Publisher webs was fairly straightforward until Vista and IE7...

I would suggest you consider downloading and installing the free FTP client
FileZilla:
http://filezilla-project.org/ It is likely to be easier for you. Also
peruse and understand the instructions on this page:
http://filezilla.sourceforge.net/documentation/

Reference: Aplus.net: How do I upload with Filezilla:

This article has some good screenshots that may help you understand how to
use FileZilla, though it will vary between hosts.

Thanks DavidF. I did finally find how to publish to the web - it was there in
fron of me all the time ! I found out by idly clicking the box in the top LH
corner of the "Publish to web" window. However, after fluking a publish once
the "publish to web" facility tells me I cannot as the folder is red-only. Oh
well. another Everest to climb for this twit.

Sorry but your description is very unclear as to what you are doing. If you
aren't using a form on your site, then once again I would recommend using
FileZilla to upload you files. You would go to File > Publish to the web and
direct you publisher web files to your local hard drive where you could find
them. Then you would use FileZilla to upload the 'index.htm' file (your home
page) and the "index_files" folder to your server. If in attempting to
upload the index_files folder you get a 'read only' error or something, then
I would probably rename the folder on your server as "index_files_old' and
then upload the new one. If that works you can safely delete the old folder,
your issue is probably a permissions issue.
