Donations of software to non-profit groups

I'm involved in a non-profit youth mentoring group that is
in need of any version of Publisher for use in mass
mailings from a data base. Anyone out there know how to go
about soliciting this type of help.

Since I am also in a anon-profit group I'd love to know this as well. But
since I *know* what my chances are at having multiple copies donated to us,
I'll suggest you use .pdf files as a means of dispursing your information.
That's what I do and I have no problems. (Well, actually I have one woman
who can't read the files but she's using Acrobat Reader 3.0. I suggested she
upgrade to the newest version her system can handle which is probably
v5.05.)

I know with many software companies they will sell you software at education
prices for non-profit groups.

I wasn't 100% certain either. My interpretation was that the OP was looking
for donations of Publisher for his/her NPO's use.

And okay, I'll call you Cranky if you really want. I'd rather call you Steve
but, hey, it's your name. :)

Just a FWIW,

Serif - www.serif.com - allows anyone to give away their software after
they upgrade, and the user(s) can register it as new. In the software
world, it is amazing. They will sell registered users an upgrade for
$39.95 but it is classified, according to their EULA, as a standalone
program that does not require a previous version to be in the possession
of the user.
