Dont show page no's on 1st page

Is there a method of removing page no from the 1st page without sectioning
the document - i.e without inputing all the other header/footers in twice?

Yes. In File | Page Setup, Layout tab, select Different First Page under
Header and Footer.

Enable the "Different first page" option, found on the Layout tab
of the File > Page Setup dialog box.
