Don't want attachment when replying

I run Office XP and when replying to an email that
contains an attachment, it includes the attachment in the
reply. I don't want it to include the attachment, but
can't find anything in Email Options to make it stop.

On a reply, the attachment should not be present. After all, the sender
doesn't usually want back a copy of the same file they already sent to
you (they should already have their copy of that file which got
attached). What happens when you start Outlook in safe mode
("outlook.exe /safe")? If it works okay then, I'd suspect you have an
add-on screwing up Outlook's behavior (tools -> options -> other ->
advanced).
