double shared border on bottom

Can anyone help?
When I published my index page recently, while I was
viewing it on the server I noticed that at the bottom
(bottom shared border) there now apperared to be two of
them. They both work but don't look good.
I would appreciate any information as to how I can
correct this. I tried deleting the index page, also
turned off the FP extensions but niether one of them
worked. Help...:(

Hi Mike,

Shared borders work just like include pages in that they are design time components so the code is applied to the file / page at
save time. The extensions have nothing to do with it.

What does the page look like when you're editing it? URL?

It shows just fine in the edit, and when published shows a double bottom shared border but only on the index page, http://www.adsforus.com
Thank you for any information you might be able to offer me.

Update! I found that the double border also shows when I preview it from FP in the different browsers. So the problem is on my computer, I just don't know where to look.

You haven't told us the O/S, server extensions versions.

So, on a wild guess:

There are some bugs in FP2002 & the FP2002 SE so make sure you also see &
apply all appropriate patches from:

For Unix server problems on the FP2002 SE see
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;Q299360
For NT server problems on the FP2002 SE see
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;Q298827
For FrontPage Server Extension 2002 Update - see

which is .asp. I'm also using Windows XP (home). Hope
this might give you a little more insight and I

Tom,
Thank You for the information. I contacted my host and they have all of the current patches. This was running fine before on my host but then I started having this problem which only occurs on the index page. In FP 2003 edit, it looks good but when I view it in the "preview in browser" in FP I also find it occuring there too, so I don't think it's the host, it's some file on my computer that seems to really like this bottom border......any thoughts???. I would welcome any that you might have.

Check the page in FrontPage, in Code view.
There should be one </body> tag followed by one </html>
Delete any further copies of the </body> tag (and </html>) - each copy will
trigger a new bottom border (which may not be seen in FrontPage normal or
preview views, but will be seen in preview in browser).

To Ronx,

Thank You so much, I can't believe it was that simple! I had looked at the code before but missed it completely....again Thank You.
