download Error-"...You do not have MS Word/Excel 2007 installed...

I'm trying to download templates in Word 2007 and Excel 2007 and both say I
can't because I don't have the programs. I have authenticated versions of
them, and also have 2003 on the computer, which it came with. I'm running XP.
I CAN download templates for 2003 programs.

For what it's worth, when I tried to "autodetect" my programs, it did
nothing at all. I tried with firewall on and off. I also ran the Office
problem detector program (whatever it's called) and it said No Problems. I
have already downloaded the compatibility program for 2003/2007 and
re-started the computer.

Any suggestions as to what to do? Step by step is good, as I'm not very
computer literate! Thank you!

Thank you for the suggestion, but I'm still not able to download.

I put Office in the safe zone - no difference.

The Active X have no difficulty loading.

I have Norton 360 (which the article didn't address) and disabled both the
anti-virus and the firewall independently and still got the same message that
I don't have the programs. My MS firewall is on Off.

I can download the Office 2003 products, but it's not recognizing that I
have 2007. I again tried validating the 2007 and the program was recognized
and validated that way.

Any other suggestions? Again, thank you.

I simply don't know why the Office site is not seeing your version.
There is a myriad of articles to read about the 2007 office system.
